By AgenticAnki · A guide to our PDF-to-Anki workflow

Is this the workflow you need?

Your material
Lecture slides, notes or permitted textbook excerpts saved as PDFs.
Your exam format
One best answer, or several correct answers per question.
Your study app
Anki. Export the generated deck as an .apkg file.
Your preview
See sample questions and explanations before buying your export.

This workflow is designed for practising questions from a particular course. If you want to write every card yourself or use an existing deck unchanged, start with that approach.

How to go from a PDF to an Anki deck

  1. Prepare your material. Use PDFs you have permission to upload. Check that the text and figures are readable.
  2. Choose your question format. Select Single choice questions for one best answer or Multiple choice questions for select-all-that-apply practice.
  3. Add optional exam examples. Permitted past questions can supply examples of wording and format. They cannot tell you what will appear on the next exam.
  4. Inspect the preview. See sample questions, answers and explanations.
  5. Export to Anki. If the preview fits your needs, purchase the export and import the .apkg file into Anki.

Questions about PDF-to-Anki conversion

Can I turn lecture PDFs into multiple-choice Anki cards?

Yes. AgenticAnki generates Single choice questions or Multiple choice questions from uploaded PDFs. You can inspect sample questions before deciding whether to pay for an Anki deck export.

What is the difference between single choice and multiple choice questions?

Single choice questions have one best answer and up to five options. Multiple choice questions have exactly five options, with one to five correct answers. Choose the format used in your exam.

Do I need past exam papers?

No. Lecture material is enough to start. Past exams or practice questions are optional examples of wording and format. Upload only material you have permission to use. Style examples do not predict the next exam.

Is the exported deck free?

You can preview sample questions before paying. Exporting the generated deck is a paid step; check the current price before purchase.
